Thank you to all those involved and who gave up their time and cars to help promote the sport and VORRA.  The spectators had an absolute ball, riding 2 laps of the short track, with a jump, tight corners and some whoops!  The crowds certainly made their way over to see what was happening when they heard the noise and saw the dust.

It is with great sadness that we advise that Gillian Conrad passed away suddenly on Monday 6 February, 2012.

Gill and her family joined VORRA back in the 1990s and she navigated for her father Gary and brother Travis on many occasions. She enjoyed off-road racing and was always having fun and a laugh with her family.

The VORRA Committee and members would like to express their condolences to Gary, Annette, Travis, Catherine and family, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Matt Hanson’s race ended on lap six on Sunday with timing belt issues. David and Alice Middlemiss drove their #277 Super 1650 into second place with newcomer Luke Hall taking home a podium finish in the #810 Extreme 4WD.

Michael George and Joshua Sevenson #43 took Pro class while Andy and Karen Fox claimed class honours in Production 4WD.

Richard Harrington #398 had brake problems towards the final stages of today laps, hitting a tree in the Sportsman buggy, but managing to get to the finish line and record complete race distance.

A full refund will be given as detailed in the regs if you are unable to attend.

We have spread the event out over 2 days and added an optional night sprint which is separately rewarded and not part of the day sections results.

The results of earlier working bees was checked during a track inspection on the 14th September and it looks great. Camping is free with toilets and showers available from Friday and the Highlands Primary School mums will be preparing more yummy food from Saturday breaky until after the race on Sunday. The Rover Scouts will be running a bar at reasonable rates throughout the weekend to make packing even easier. Ring Brett on 0418 313 656 if you have any questions.

<![CDATA[AORC Round 3 Replacement]]> http://www.vorra.org.au/news_details.php?blog_id=8 Australian Off Road Championship Round 3 Replacement - Flinders 450 at Baroota

The Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) are pleased to announce a replacement for the recently cancelled event at Griffith.

Round 3 of the Australian Off Road Championship will now be held at Baroota in South Australia and be known as the Flinders 450, taking place July 22nd to 24th.

The Australian Off Road Commission wishes to thank the organisers at Baroota for their quick response and support of the Championship by providing the land, infrastructure and organisation to ensure this event is a great addition to the Australian Off Road Championship.

AORC registered competitors competing in the Tri Series, who had nominated Griffith as one of their rounds in the Tri-Series will have their nomination by default transferred to Baroota but can change this by contacting CAMS.
