Greg and Max Gartner #410 put on an impressive show throughout the weekend at the Rainbow Rises 240, enthralling the large spectator crowd gathered on the mound with their massive jumps across the finish line tabletop. The father and son duo outlasted the quality field to finish the 27 lap short course event with a 5m38second lead over Jason Noonan and Sam Sapuppo; the #23 Jimco proving consistency pays dividends. >> Read the full article on OffRoadRacing.com >> Full event results

The 2021 BFGoodrich Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) calendar has been confirmed with five events to form part of next year’s season.
Motorsport Australia has indicated all five rounds originally scheduled for the 2020 season will return in 2021. The Championship will begin with the Cobb & Co Hotel St George 399 in March, before off road crews finally get another chance to fight it out for the prestigious King of the Desert title with the Tatts Finke Desert Race to run in its traditional Queens’ Birthday long weekend time slot. Following on from the iconic race in June, competitors will enjoy a six week break before making their way to South Australia for one of the AORC’s newest events, the Can-Am Loveday 400. The AORC then returns to Victoria for the Hindmarsh Shire Rainbow Desert Enduro, which will run at the end of August before heading out west to Western Australia at the end of October for the season finale, the Kalgoorlie Desert Race. >> Read the full media release from Motorsport Australia At our AGM on Thursday 3 December the following members were voted in as the 2021 Committee:

Tony Carabott President VALE: Kevin “Dargo” Donovan A life member and one of our founding members, passed away on 6 October. Kevin raced and held many committee positions over the early years and volunteered many hours of his time for our sport. Our thoughts are with his wife Heather and their family. His funeral will be held this Thursday 15 October at 2pm, the link to join the live stream of the service is: https://vimeo.com/465963036/4bb1e4ceed On behalf of the VORRA Committee and the Rainbow Race Committee, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our National event, Rainbow Desert Enduro 560, in August 2020.
This decision was not made lightly, and due to the amount of voluntary work and effort that goes into organising and preparing a National event, with the unknown timeline of restriction changes and the risk of transmission of COVID–19, both publicly and within the sport, we have to make a call at this time. Our members, Volunteers, Officials, Competitors and the Rainbow Township, are our number one priority when it comes to health and safety. Motorsport Australia have been informed of our decision and of course they, like of all us, are disappointed, but fully respect and support our decision. There will be an official announcement from them also. We trust that you respect our decision. VORRA and the Rainbow community, look forward to hosting the Rainbow Rises 240 in March 2021 and seeing as many of you there as possible. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Tony Carabott President |
